Integrated Working Minimize

South Gloucestershire Integrated Working aims to support agencies working together with children, young people and their families.

There are many different agencies working with children and young people and we aim to improve the way these different people communicate, share information and work together, making sure the needs of all children and young people are met.

Integrated Working helps preventative services to be better co-ordinated and ensure that children, young people and their families are offered support at an earlier stage.

Integrated working is part of the government's strategy to improve services for children and young people. As part of this, children and young people have told the government that five outcomes are key to wellbeing in childhood and later life. These are: Being Healthy, Staying Safe, Enjoying and Achieving, Making a Positive Contribution and Achieving Economic Wellbeing.  Integrated Working works to support children and young people in achieving these outcomes.

ContactPoint Minimize

ContactPoint is being developed as part of the Every Child Matters programme to improve outcomes for all children. It will be a vital support for delivering early intervention for children who need additional services and effective safeguarding for children at risk of harm.

The aims of ContactPoint are to:

• Help practitioners quickly identify a child with whom they have contact, and whether that child is getting the universal services (education, primary healthcare) to which he or she is entitled;
• Enable earlier identification of needs and earlier and more effective action to address these needs by providing a tool for practitioners to identify who else is involved with a particular child; and
• Be an important tool to encourage and support better communication and closer working between different professionals and practitioners.
